Metro Police Department, Madison Precinct is proud to be able to come to you to collect your old prescription and over the counter medication that you no longer need. We would like to remind everyone that it is not safe to throw away this medication or flush it down the toilet and to bring it to us during our mobile pickup.

• What happens when I turn my medication over to the police?
The medication is put in a secure bin that PD is with the entire time it is in transport. It is then transported to our property room where the contents will be slated for destruction.
• Do I need to remove the labels off the bottles and prescriptions?
No you do not have to remove the label or take the medication out of the bottles.
• What type of medication do you take?
Prescription medication, over the counter medication, pet medication, and medication in liquid, pill, or inhaler form. Medicated ointments, lotions, or drops are also accepted. Narcotics can be turned in.
• Do you take syringes or Diabetic supplies?
We will have a sharps container handy for disposal of syringes but they will be given to our fire department for disposal. Blood sugar equipment is not accepted.
• What will you not take?
Blood sugar equipment, thermometers, IV bags, bloody or infectious waste, personal care products (ex. Shampoo) will not be accepted.

• What if I miss you?
Medication can be turned in at Madison Precinct, 400 Myatt Dr, Monday - Friday, 8AM to 3PM, to exclude metro holidays.
****We will Also Be finishing up our pickups at Fifty Forward, 301 Madison St, from 12:30 to 1:30 on February 13, 2018. So if we missed you at your stop feel free to stop by Fifty Forward and we will be happy to take the medication there.*****
